What’s New for 2026–2027: Updates to CTeLearning’s Sustainable Landscape Design Pathway

Today, we are excited to announce our Summer 2026 Course Updates for the Horticulture and Sustainable Landscape Design pathway, designed to make your 2026–2027 implementation smoother, more interactive, and directly aligned with Perkins V funding requirements.

“When I got off the demo with you the other day, the thing I was most excited about was that it’s interactive with the kids. It’s not just a paper worksheet that says, ‘Look up and research about this.’ It’s actually letting the kids see it, hear it, and live the life of a landscape designer. The lesson design has a balance to it: detailed, but simple. It’s not too much. Kids don’t want to spend umpteen million hours just sitting there reading a research paper. The course is about doing—visual, infographics, bullet points, and more—and so is my teaching style. When it comes to the learning approach, we are on the same wavelength with what you have created. Platform & Hardware Enhancements: 100% Web-Native Design

Budget constraints and hardware limitations should never prevent a student from accessing modern 3D design software. Historically, teaching landscape design required dedicated computer labs with high-end graphic processing units (GPUs).


Our updated 2026–2027 course platform continues our commitment to hardware equity through our web-native, cloud-rendered architecture:

  • Zero-Install Compatibility: Works seamlessly across PCs, Macs, and standard student Chromebooks.
  • Low-Bandwidth Optimization: Summer performance updates ensure fast rendering speeds and smooth interactive design tutorials, even in low-bandwidth classroom environments.
  • Streamlined Student Portfolios: Students can export digital blueprints, plant growth projections, and client proposals directly into their career-ready digital portfolios.
  • Canvas Compatibility: The course is now fully compatible with schools that utilize the Canvas platform. For schools that use Moodle, we still offer full support. 


Perkins V Alignment & Workforce Readiness

Every update made to the CTeLearning curriculum is engineered to help administrators fulfill Perkins V requirements for high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand occupations under the Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources career cluster.


Core Skill Mapping for 2026–2027:

  • Biological & Soil Science: Hands-on soil testing (pH, N, P, K), plant nomenclature, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
  • Applied Math & Estimating: Real-world area calculations, watering volumes, soil augmentation, and contractor cost estimation.
  • Sustainable Design Logic: Xeriscaping, native species integration, foodscaping, and 20-year growth modeling.
  • Professional Communication: Client pitch simulations, project management, and integrated certification in Workplace Ethics.
