We here at CTeLearning are proud to once again support the SkillsUSA web design and development competition in 2023. Along with Web Professionals Global, the association for all professionals in internet-related careers, the CTeLearning team has helped support the event teams running state-level competitions in MD, LA, TX, IN, KY, NV, OK and IL. These states all ran competitive events that best prepare their competitors for the national competition that will be held in June in Atlanta, GA.New Paragraph.
The students are competing using our integrated development environment (IDE), a fancy word for a coding environment where they can experiment with code, develop and create professional-level websites. The platform is online-based, so states had the option of holding the competition either virtually or in-person. This made the process easier and smoother for the judges assessing the work of the participants. The judges are taking advantage of a feature we built into the system that makes it easier for teachers to grade projects.
Steve Waddell, our founder and lead developer, has been helping since 2012 with the SkillsUSA national web design and development competition, and since 2008 in other competition areas.
Since 2013, as we gained more experience in the competition, the CTeLearning web design curriculum and its projects have not only modeled industry but also the national web design and development competition main project. In this way, all our teachers and their students are benefiting in two primary ways.
First, our teachers have a highly successful interactive curriculum to use with the bonus of offering their students opportunities to “Learn and Earn” third-party industry certifications. Second, our SkillsUSA teachers know that what their students are learning will support them at the state and national web design competition. Our experience, background and long-term support of the Web Professionals Global Organization and the national SkillsUSA competition made it an easy choice to partner and help at the state level as well.
